Why Algebra Ready exists
Good tutoring starts by identifying the right problem.
My focus
I specialize in upper-elementary mathematics: number sense, place value, multiplication and division fluency, fractions, decimals, reasoning, and the foundations students need before middle-school mathematics becomes more abstract.
My instructional approach
I begin with evidence. A short assessment helps distinguish a missing foundation from a student who is ready for more challenge. Instruction then targets the highest-leverage relationship rather than assigning more generic practice.
What I want students to be able to do
Correct answers matter, but they are not enough. I want students to explain why an answer makes sense, use more than one representation, recognize mathematical structure, and apply what they know when the problem does not look familiar.
Why I teach the sessions myself
Algebra Ready is deliberately founder-led. The person who assesses the student also plans and teaches the instruction. That keeps accountability clear and lets each week build directly on what happened in the last one.
